
Chamber music is an important part of Garcías’ artistic work. His musical approach is shaped by collaboration and dialogue, developed through long-term work with the Sosnowska–Garcías Duo and performances with artists such as Aitor Hevia, Antonia Straka, Dudu Carmel, Thomas Indermühle, Luis María Suárez, Christian Benning, and Johannes Obermeier. In 2017, he founded the Sosnowska–Garcías Duo (cello and piano) with cellist Zuzanna Sosnowska. The ensemble has an active international career and has received several awards, including the 1st Prize ex aequo at the International Salieri–Zinetti Chamber Music Competition (Verona, 2019) and the 2nd Prize at the International Swedish Duo Competition in Katrineholm (2022, WFIMC member). They have performed at festivals such as the J. Waldorff Festival (Radziejowice, Poland), Julita Festival (Sweden), Ostinato – International Chamber Music Festival Omiš (Croatia), Linköping Kammarmusikförening (Sweden), Festival of Young Artists Bayreuth (Germany), Festival Internacional Chopin de Valldemossa (Spain), and Torroella de Montgrí (Spain). The duo has appeared in concerts across Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Croatia, Cologne, Leipzig, and Tirana. In 2025, they were laureates of the program “Musik in die Zukunft” at the Silesia Sonans Festival. Their debut album Im Volkston received a five-star review from Pizzicato Magazine and was widely praised by specialized international critics.
Garcías received his musical education in Spain and Germany. In Zaragoza, he studied with the Quiroga Quartet, Iván Cítera, Lluís Rodríguez, Enrique Bagaría, and Nacho de Paz. He later completed his Master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar with Prof. Gerlinde Otto, and obtained his Meisterklasse degree with distinction at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg under Prof. Dr. Aurelia Visovan. His artistic development was further shaped by masterclasses with Claudio Martínez Mehner, Natalia Trull, Troels Svane, Dirk Mommertz, and members of the Quiroga Quartet.
As a soloist, Garcías has received several awards, including the 1st Prize at the Steinway Förderpreis in Nuremberg and the 2nd Prize at the Concurs Internacional de les Corts. He has performed with orchestras such as the Bad Reichenhaller Philharmoniker, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Rioja Filarmonía, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg, the Orquestra de Cambra de Mallorca, and the Orquestra Simfònica d’Eivissa, under conductors including Guido Rumstadt, Francisco Valero-Terribas, Jorge Manrique, and Bernat Quetglas.
His concert activity includes appearances in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Nürnberg, Warsaw, Cologne, Leipzig, Tirana, Graz, Weimar, Palma, and Valencia, as well as performances with the project Refractio at the Auditori Espai Ter de Torroella de Montgrí. Garcías’ engagement with contemporary music includes performances of John Cage’s Sonatas for Prepared Piano, the world premiere of the opera La Veu Sàuria by Mariona Vila (produced by Diabolus in Música), premieres of works by Alireza Khiabani, and the first radio broadcast of Drama, a trio by Chaya Arbel, for BR-Klassik. His discography includes seven albums.
His recent release Refractio Vol. II: Debussy, created with jazz pianist Diego Hervalejo, has been widely praised by specialized critics for its artistic depth and sensitivity. He also wrote the musical Nuredduna, based on text by Mallorcan poet Costa i Llobera, and released "Abans que t’adormis" (2018), featuring music by composer Sergi Ramis (1990–2017).
Alongside his artistic activity, Garcías maintains an extensive pedagogical career. He has worked as associate professor at the Conservatorio Superior de les Illes Balears, collaborated as pianist in lessons and masterclasses with Thomas Indermühle, Chiara Samatanga, Michelle Wegwart, Michail Ovrutsky, Ramón Ortega, Marcelo Amaral and Dudu Carme. He is currently piano accompanist at the Hochschule der Künste Bern (HKB) and also works at the Hochschule für Musik Köln.
